Helen runs the place with the kind of attentiveness that tips over from hospitality into something closer to having a local friend sort your trip out for you – maps, tour bookings, bicycle hire, the lot. Clean rooms, working aircon, a fridge that earns its keep, and quiet enough that a month-long stay is a reasonable proposition.
Rooms with street-facing balconies are worth requesting. Breakfast is available on-site, laundry comes back fast, and Helen speaks good English so nothing gets lost in translation. Rates sit firmly in the budget-to-mid range – you’re not paying for a lobby, you’re paying for a bed and a person who actually helps.
If your idea of a hotel stay is anonymous check-in and leaving the staff alone, go somewhere bigger. But if you’re in Hoi An for more than a night or two and want someone in your corner, this is one of the more useful places to sleep in town. Ask for Helen the moment you arrive.
