Long, the main bartender, is the real draw – he runs the place like a good host runs a living room, and his cocktails are made in front of you, which at these prices feels almost unnecessary but lands well. This suits people who want to sit somewhere relaxed without paying Ancient Town tourist tax on every drink.
The beef burger and vegetable spring rolls are the safe bets on the food side – both solid, both cheap. Fresh spring rolls, banh mi, and chicken rice are also worth ordering. Unusually, the kitchen opens early enough for breakfast, making this one of the only bars in the area you can walk into before 9am without feeling like you’ve made a terrible life choice.
If you need icy-cold beer, clarify that upfront – there have been temperature issues and a not-great habit of switching to a pricier option without much warning. The vibe is deliberately quiet, so if you want pounding music and a crowd, look elsewhere. Come in the evening when the terrace makes sense and Long is behind the bar.
