The Pearl Hoi An
Description
A beachfront resort on An Bang/My An beach, about 15 minutes from the old town by taxi or free shuttle bus (runs at 3pm, 4pm, and 5pm – plan accordingly). The pool is large, the beach is private, and the rooms are clean with comfortable beds. Staff get consistently good marks, particularly at reception.
This is a proper resort stay rather than a boutique town experience. You get the gym, the pool table, the breakfast buffet, the sauna – the full package for families or anyone who wants a base to decompress between day trips into Hoi An. Rooms facing the grounds get pool and ocean views worth paying a little extra for.
The tradeoff is that you’re isolated from the town’s restaurants and bars by design. The hotel’s own food and drink service winds down around 10pm, so if you’re planning late nights, you’ll be relying on the taxi back from town or the small on-site cafe.
