Hoàng Tử Bắp Bakery
Description
Hoàng Tử Bắp is a small cake shop on Thái Phiên that’s been making celebration cakes since 2016. Their signature is fresh milk whipped cream paired with a lightly bitter chocolate sponge – the combination keeps things from getting cloyingly sweet, which is rarer than you’d think in Vietnamese bakeries.
Bento cakes at 100k VND are the entry point, and custom decorated cakes are the main draw. The lettering on custom orders gets praised consistently, and they include two types of candles without being asked (small detail, but you notice it).
The catch: service attitudes have drawn repeated complaints, particularly over the phone and when orders go sideways. The product itself holds up well; the customer experience is more of a coin flip.
