Búp café
Description
Búp is a one-man operation run out of a small kitchen on a side street near the river – and that one man is both the chef and the entire front-of-house. His bánh mì and spring rolls are the move here, made fresh to order with noticeably good flavour. The com ga Hoi An also gets consistent praise if you want something more substantial.
The owner, Búp, is genuinely the draw. Friendly, good English, and the kind of host who’ll hold your table while you wander off to watch the boats. Just know that when it gets busy and he’s solo, the wait gets real.
Pricing has frustrated some visitors – no prices on the menu is a choice, and a couple of drinks plus a bánh mì landing at 400k will catch people off guard. Go in with eyes open and it’s fine. Go in assuming backpacker prices and you might leave grumpy.
