Su Deli Restaurant & Coffee

Description

Su Deli sits a short bike ride from the old town center, which means it skips the tourist crush and keeps a genuinely relaxed pace. Salt coffee is the thing to order here – multiple people came back specifically for it, and the staff will know your name by your second visit.

The menu covers a lot of ground: banh mi, local noodle dishes, spring rolls, and a full drinks list including coconut coffee and mango smoothies (less sweet than you’d expect, which is a good thing). Portions are large and prices are low, so ordering two dishes to try both is a reasonable call.

There’s a resident calico cat. If you don’t see her when you walk in, just ask – staff will go find her.

Highlights

Insider Tip
Order the salt coffee and a local noodle dish over anything from the Western section of the menu - the gap in quality is real enough that a reviewer felt compelled to warn strangers about it.
Pros
- Salt coffee is consistently excellent and worth the trip on its own
- Staff are warm, attentive, and easy to talk to - multiple reviewers noticed this
- Large portions at low prices
- Good spot for people-watching from a relaxed, uncrowded seat
Cons
- A bit of a ride from the Ancient Town center, so not a quick walk-in option
- Western dishes like burgers are on the menu but the local plates are clearly the stronger choice
