Description
Red Gecko is a family-run seafood spot where the division of labor is refreshingly literal – mum handles the kitchen, dad works the charcoal BBQ, and the kids run the floor. The BBQ seafood is the reason to come, and the lobster in particular has people ordering it again before they’ve finished chewing.
Prices are noticeably lower than much of Hoi An’s tourist strip, and the portions are serious enough that a 700g lobster can split between two (or not, no judgment). The AC works, the staff check on you without hovering, and cocktails exist but aren’t the headline act.
This is the kind of place people stumble into for lunch and return to for dinner the same day. The vibe is rustic and unfussy, which is exactly right for grilled fish eaten in the heat.
