Description
A family-run spot right on the river that does three things: coconut boat rides, cooking classes with a market visit, and a proper sit-down meal. The full package – market, boat, cook, eat – runs in a logical sequence and the family actually makes it fun rather than just functional. The chef knows his stuff and the English is good enough that nothing gets lost.
The food stands on its own even if you skip the class. The fish wrapped in leaf is the move (crispy outside, impossibly soft inside), and the vegetable curry and slow-cooked ribs are worth ordering if you’re just coming to eat. Riverside seating under palm trees, open kitchen you can watch, sunset timing if you plan it right.
This is one of those places where the owners are the product. They take good photos, give out gifts at the end, and clearly enjoy having people around. (The bar for cooking class hosts is low in Hoi An – these two clear it easily.)
