Calm House Hotel Hoi An
Description
Calm House delivers on its name in the lobby and common areas – the shoe-removal policy at the entrance sets the tone immediately, and the reception staff consistently earn genuine praise rather than the polite kind. The rooftop view is legitimately good. The pool, however, is not the reason to book this place (several guests were disappointed), so if you’re planning to spend afternoons poolside, look elsewhere on the street.
Rooms facing the road get real traffic noise at night, which in old town terms means a lot of noise. Request a river-side or courtyard-facing room when you book and confirm it again on arrival – a lesson a few guests learned the hard way. The location puts you a short walk from restaurants and the old town core without being right in the thick of the chaos.

- Location works well for old town access without being on the tourist frontline
- Views from upper floors are a legitimate highlight
- Pool quality disappoints guests who book with pool stays in mind
- A few guests report room allocation issues at check-in that were handled poorly
