The LyLy Irish Pub & Sports Bar Hoi An
Description
A rooftop sports bar with a decent view over the old town and live music most nights. The music is good – a talented local singer who draws people in off the street – and the location does a lot of heavy lifting for this place.
Service is the weak spot, and it’s a significant one. Slow kitchen times, staff who range from indifferent to actively unhelpful, and a pattern of pricing inconsistencies that requires your full attention at the bill. Bring exact change and keep a screenshot of any advertised promotions.
If you’re after cold beers and live music with a rooftop breeze, it works well enough for that. Stick to drinks and skip the food entirely (the spaghetti bolognaise is apparently capable of disappearing for over an hour).

Insider Tip
Go for the live music and order bottled drinks only - check the cap before it leaves the server's hand, and pay with exact cash to avoid the change disappearing quietly into the night.

Cons
- Slow service and long food wait times are a consistent complaint across many visits
