Coconut Garden Tours

Basket boat tours through the coconut palm-lined waterways of Bay Mau (Coconut Village), run by a small family operation out of Hoi An. The guides are local women – some well into their 70s – who spin you around in the round coracle boats, help you catch crabs, and take more photos of you than you’ll take yourself.

Pricing is simple: 100,000 VND per person for the ride, another 100,000 if you want the full spinning treatment (you do). The tours are well-organised and the team actively warns you about scams in the area, which tells you something about how they operate.

This is a genuinely local setup, not a packaged resort excursion. The guides are funny, the pace is relaxed, and catching a crab on the way back is apparently on the cards.
