Description

The bamboo basket boat rides in the coconut palm-lined waterways just outside Hoi An, and Hanh Coconut is one of the main operators running them. You get paddled through the water, your boatman does the spinning trick, and you eat fresh coconut. That is essentially the whole thing, and it works.

The boat captains are the actual draw here – they are funny, physical, and clearly enjoy showing off. The spinning is the centerpiece move (think a coracle whipped into fast circles while everyone screams). You can opt out if that sounds awful, but you should probably just do it.

Mornings are noticeably better. After 10am the crowds pile in and it gets hot fast. You can walk in and pay 100k cash without booking ahead, which is fine, but arriving early matters more than how you book.
