Hoa Hiên
Description
Hoa Hiên sits riverside, just far enough from the old town’s tourist circus to feel like a proper local find. The food is solidly Vietnamese – think well-executed noodles, starters, and regional specialties – and the kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing without trying to impress anyone with fusion nonsense.
The riverside tables are the obvious target (get there early or ask specifically when booking). Watching boats and cyclists drift past while eating is pleasant, not just a photo opportunity.
Prices are reasonable for the quality, the space is clean and air-conditioned inside, and the staff are consistently described as helpful rather than the usual indifferent-to-tourists vibe. The drinks aren’t fancy – no elaborate garnishes or artisan ice – but they taste good, which is the only thing that actually matters.
