An Nhiên garden coffee
Description
An Nhiên sits far enough off the tourist trail that most visitors never find it, which is exactly the point. Rice paddies on all sides, herons wading through the water, and almost nobody around – this is where you come to stare at nothing for two hours and feel fine about it.
The coconut coffee is the thing to order. It lands somewhere between a coffee and an ice cream, which sounds wrong but isn’t. Egg coffee and matcha latte also get mentions, and the yoghurt is worth trying if you want something lighter. Prices are roughly half what you’ll pay at the Instagram-famous rice field cafes closer to town.
The staff are friendly and will often bring out complimentary coconut crackers without being asked. Go in the morning when it’s coolest and quietest (the afternoon heat turns the garden into a different experience entirely).
Highlights
- Noticeably cheaper than the popular rice field cafes
- Quiet and uncrowded, even when other spots are packed
- Friendly staff who throw in small extras like coconut crackers
- Not a walk-in-from-the-old-town kind of place
