Cadillac Bar and Grill
Description
Todd’s American bar and grill is exactly what it sounds like – a no-apologies Texas BBQ and burger joint tucked into Hoi An’s old town. The burgers are the best in town, built with quality ingredients, and the triple-cooked fries and onion rings are not an afterthought. The kind of place that earns repeat visits rather than just passing backpacker traffic.
The 70s and 80s rock soundtrack sets the tone immediately. Cold beer, margaritas strong enough to hurt the next morning (you’ve been warned), and Vietnamese staff who are actually funny – not just polite. It feels like a surfer bar that somehow landed in the middle of a UNESCO World Heritage site, which is exactly its charm.
Food-wise, the blue cheese bacon burger and BBQ pulled pork spring rolls are the moves. The ribs have drawn some criticism for portion size and tenderness, so stick to what the kitchen clearly does best.
Highlights
- Coldest beer in town (this comes up repeatedly and appears to be a point of pride)
- Friendly, funny staff and an owner, Todd, who is present and engaged
- 70s and 80s music soundtrack that actually fits the vibe rather than just filling silence
- Service attention can be inconsistent when the place gets busy
