Cafe Tuấn
Description
Cafe Tuấn sits on a quiet side street near An Bang Beach, tucked away from the pricier seafront strip. This is a family-run kitchen turning out home-style Vietnamese food at local prices, not tourist-strip prices, and it suits anyone staying nearby who wants real cooking over convenience. Families with kids do well here, as do solo travelers happy to slow down and let the kitchen work.
Order the cashew chicken, the beef with vegetables and lemongrass, or the seafood noodles. Banh xeo comes out crispy and the owner will walk you through how to eat it if you’ve never had it. Rice noodle dishes and the fish cutlet are standouts too, and vegetarians can get a tofu version of most mains. A full spread with spring rolls, banana pancake, mango smoothie, and a salt coffee runs around 240k VND. The salt coffee and iced coffee are strong and worth ordering even if you’re not staying for a meal. Vegetables come from the family’s own garden, which shows in the freshness.
The tradeoff is time: everything is cooked fresh to order, so expect 30 to 60 minutes, longer if you order several dishes at once. Go in with no rush and treat it as a long lunch rather than a quick stop. Skip it if you need fast service before a bus or tour, but if you’re staying on that street, make it your regular spot for both coffee and dinner.
