Cơm Linh does one thing better than almost anywhere else in the old town: duck. The pho bo with duck and the duck-on-rice are the reasons people queue out the door, and the meat is consistently boneless and tender in a way that suggests someone back there actually knows what they’re doing.
The setting is a proper old town building – atmospheric in the way that means no air conditioning and tables packed so close together you’ll be on first-name terms with the couple next to you. Fans exist. Plan accordingly, especially in summer.
Expect a wait without a reservation, sometimes 30 minutes or more. The staff handle the chaos well (ask for Hang if she’s working), and the white rose dumplings are worth ordering while you wait.
