A riverside bar on the Thu Bon that does one thing well: cold craft beer, a comfortable setback from the road, and a front-row seat to the slow chaos of Old Town boat traffic. The owner is a character – chatty, Catholic, and invested in the place in a way that makes it feel less like a tourist pit stop and more like someone’s actual bar. Best suited to pairs or solos who want to park for an afternoon and watch Hoi An happen around them.
The Hai Van Haze IPA is the standout order – a proper craft beer that earns its price. The pina colada gets serious loyalty from regulars, which is not something you can say about pina coladas everywhere. Draft beer selection rotates but stays interesting, and the Chardonnay is apparently not an afterthought worth skipping.
One clear note: the bar runs on an alcohol-order expectation. If everyone at the table is drinking, you’ll have a fine time. If half your group is on medications or pregnant and wants a Coke, the dynamic can get uncomfortable – the owner has sent tables away over this, more than once. There are also credible reports of inconsistent treatment toward Asian customers, which is worth knowing before you go. Come as a couple or solo, order the IPA, and stay longer than you planned.
