Dudu Cafe Hoi An
Description
Dudu sits right where the bridge from Cam Nam crosses into the old town, which makes it an easy stop before the crowds hit. The coconut coffee is the move here, and the shallots-on-toast situation is good in a way you wouldn’t expect. The room itself is cozy without trying too hard.
Order at the counter first – the layout doesn’t make this obvious from the front tables, so don’t sit down and wait for someone to come to you. Breakfast runs a little later than the 8am opening suggests, closer to 9am in practice.
The kitchen is inconsistent depending on what you order. The toasts with interesting toppings (confit garlic, roasted tomatoes, shallots) deliver. The avocado toast and poached eggs are not what you’re coming here for.
