Hoi An Coconut Village

Description

A 50-60 minute basket boat tour through the coconut palm forest just outside Hoi An’s old town. The boat operators are the real draw here – older local women who spin, sway, and generally show off in the round wicker boats while catching crabs and posing for photos (the crab goes back in the water, relax).

At 80,000 VND per person the price is hard to argue with, and the ticket covers entrance and a bottle of water. Families with small kids have done this without issue, and the operators seem genuinely good at reading what each group wants from the experience.

A few vendors on the water will offer extras – fish feeding, fishing nets, that sort of thing – and some cost money. Nothing aggressive, but know that saying no is completely fine and nobody will make it weird.
