Hoi An Street Market

Description

Hoi An Street Market is the main outdoor market running along the Thu Bon River, where you’ll find souvenir stalls, fabric vendors, and street food all crammed into the same stretch. It’s chaotic in the best and worst sense – good for picking up lanterns, cheap clothing, and a quick bowl of something hot.

The food side is genuinely the stronger draw. Look past the trinket stalls and you’ll find vendors selling cao lau, banh mi, and fresh spring rolls at prices that won’t hurt.

Sellers can be pushy or oddly indifferent depending on the stall (a very specific kind of Vietnamese retail energy that takes some getting used to). Come with a clear idea of what you want, or you’ll spend an hour wandering without buying anything.
