Description

Kayo sits outside the old town proper, which makes it a natural pit stop rather than a destination – regulars swing by on the way in rather than making a special trip. The coffee is the main event: low-acid, smooth, and good if you find Vietnamese coffee usually too sharp. Salt coffee is the order to get here.

The mango smoothie comes heavy on coconut milk, which splits opinion down the middle (couples seem to either both love it or both don’t, based on pattern). Egg coffee is on the menu but it’s the lighter, less custardy version – worth knowing before you make the trip specifically for that.

It also doubles as a Klook bus pickup point with zero signage explaining this, so if you’re waiting for a bus and feeling confused, you are in the right place.

Highlights

Insider Tip
Skip the smoothies and order the salt coffee - it's the reason regulars stop here every time they drive toward the old town.
Pros
'- Coffee is consistently good, especially for people who find Vietnamese coffee too acidic
- Staff are friendly and go out of their way (one owner handed a stranded traveler an apple and water at 6am, unprompted)
- Spacious enough to actually get a seat
- Salt coffee is a reliable standout that keeps regulars coming back
Cons
- Music on the ground floor runs loud, and the second floor has air conditioning issues - not a comfortable place to work
- Table cleanliness has been an issue for some; requests to clear tables don't always get acted on quickly
Best For
Early bird, Couples, Quick bite, Solo traveler
