Ken Vegetarian and Coffee
Description
Ken does something most vegetarian spots in Vietnam don’t bother with: mock meats that actually taste like what they’re imitating. The vegan pork and plant-based versions of Vietnamese classics aren’t novelty items – they’re the main event, and they’re priced like a local lunch spot rather than a tourist concession.
The menu runs all day, from sunny-side eggs and banana crepes at breakfast through to lotus salad and Vietnamese pancakes at lunch and dinner. That lotus salad is worth noting specifically – it shows up on menus around town about as often as a cool breeze in August, so finding it here matters.
The space itself has straw lanterns that feel genuinely local rather than staged, and the English-speaking host makes ordering the more interesting menu items a lot easier than pointing and hoping.
