Lá Sen
Description
Lá Sen is the beachfront restaurant at the Four Seasons resort in An Bang, which tells you most of what you need to know about the price point and the setting. The food is Vietnamese done with real refinement – think delicate preparations, quality ingredients, and plates that look as considered as the ocean view behind them.
It’s a hotel restaurant that actually earns its keep. Guests who stayed at the resort report going back every night, which is the truest endorsement any resort dining room can get. The drink specials rotate nightly and the service is the kind that makes you feel like the only table in the room (with occasional memory lapses, because this is still Vietnam).
If you’re not a resort guest and you’re comparing this to a 60,000 VND bowl of cao lau in the old town, you will feel the price gap hard. Come for the occasion, not the value.
Highlights
- Service is attentive and consistent enough to bring guests back every night
- Rotating nightly drink specials keep things interesting for multi-night stays
- Vietnamese dishes are carefully prepared and presented
- Some dishes (notably the chicken) arrive cold - the kitchen calls it traditional, which is technically true but not always satisfying
