Mandala House Hoian
Description
Mandala House is a riverside homestay retreat run by Seny, who teaches yoga, tai chi, mandala art, and sound healing from her family home outside the old town. The setting does a lot of the work – slow river, fishing nets, jasmine in the air, and a 20-minute boat ride back to town that most people say is the best part of the day.
This is not a spa you book for an afternoon treatment. Seny’s retreats run multiple days and mix wellness practices with home-cooked meals, Vietnamese coffee, and the kind of host who takes you to the local market and introduces you to the family dog. The experience is personal to the point where guests describe it as staying with a friend.
Single-day visits for mandala painting or sound healing are possible, but the multi-day format is where it lands properly. Seny teaches beginners well – multiple guests had zero background in any of the practices and left feeling capable rather than confused.
