MAY MAY Tailor
Description
May May punches above its weight for custom tailoring in a town full of tailors. The ladies here work fast – think 24 hours for a top, next-afternoon turnaround for cheongsams – and they’ll work from a photo on your phone just as easily as from a sketch. Rose, Hoa, and Huong get name-checked repeatedly, which tells you this isn’t a revolving door of indifferent staff.
They handle the full range: men’s suits, traditional Vietnamese ao dai and cheongsams, linen separates, dress shirts, wedding outfits. Tall guys who’ve spent years buying hemmed-up trousers elsewhere will particularly appreciate that they actually measure you and make the pants long enough (revolutionary concept, apparently). Fabric and button selection is extensive, which means choosing can take longer than the actual sewing.
One honest note: at least one customer reported a hole developing in linen trousers after two weeks of wear, so fabric durability is worth discussing before you commit. Ask specifically about linen thread weight if you’re ordering pants you plan to wear hard.
Highlights
- Staff are consistently helpful and patient through adjustments and changes
- Good at working from reference photos to replicate specific designs
- Wide selection of fabrics, designs, and buttons on-site
- Large selection is a pro until it isn't - decision fatigue is real if you're in a hurry
