Mi casa restaurant hoi an
Description
Mi Casa sits across from the Palm Garden Beach Resort and pulls in both hotel guests and locals who know better than to pay resort prices. The family running this place has been at it long enough that repeat visitors from years back get recognized on return trips (that Polish reviewer came back four times over sixteen years, which tells you something).
The menu covers Vietnamese classics done properly – bun xeo, pho, stuffed squid, bbq skewers – plus the owners apparently make fresh pasta daily, which is either charming or confusing depending on your mood. Portions are generous and nothing here will hurt your wallet in the way the fancier spots closer to the old town will.
They also do laundry service, which sounds like a footnote but is useful if you’re based at one of the nearby beach resorts and running low on clean clothes.
Highlights
- Prices are low enough that people specifically call them out as a reason to come back
- Food quality holds up across multiple visits - several reviewers returned more than once on the same trip
- Wide menu that covers Vietnamese staples well, with standouts including prawn curry, chicken cashew nut stir fry, and bbq squid
- One reviewer found the food average before trying it, though the majority disagree strongly
