Phố Hội Craft Beer & Restaurant & Tattoo & Bar
Description
A craft beer bar, restaurant, tattoo parlor, and pool hall rolled into one – which sounds chaotic but somehow works. The Korean reviews are unanimous: the food is absurdly cheap and good, with the clam soup getting particular praise for its lemongrass-spiked broth and the pork belly drawing repeat visits. Full meals with multiple beers land around 390,000 VND total (roughly $15 USD for a group).
The bar side is equally low-key and worth lingering in. Free pool table, a resident bar dog who will absolutely demand your attention, and staff who’ll go out of their way to help even when the lights are off and you assume they’re closed. (The cao lau comes from the shop next door – a neighborly arrangement that says everything about how Hoi An actually functions.)
The atmosphere is relaxed rather than rowdy, which makes it good for a slow evening beer rather than a big night out. Come expecting a neighborhood local, not a tourist bar.
Highlights
- Staff go well out of their way to be helpful and friendly
- Free pool table keeps evenings going longer than planned
- The bar dog is a legitimate draw (mentioned unprompted by multiple reviewers)
- 27 reviews is a thin sample size, so consistency is harder to verify
