Phương Beach Restaurant Hoi An
Description
Phương sits right on An Bang Beach, which means you get actual sea views across the East Sea rather than a painted mural of one. The seafood is the move here – crumbed prawns, scallops, steamed clams with lemongrass, whole fish to share. It covers a lot of ground for groups with mixed diets, including solid vegetarian options and a kitchen that takes gluten-free requests seriously.
The atmosphere does most of the heavy lifting in the evenings, with live music kicking off around 6pm and a crowd that’s clearly happy to be there. Service is generally warm and attentive, though the kitchen wraps up earlier than you might expect (plan to order well before 8:30pm or you’ll be rushing dessert).
Prices are reasonable for a beachfront spot, and they have showers on site for anyone coming straight from a swim. The smoothies are a weak point – order a beer instead.
Highlights
- Seafood is consistently good - crumbed prawns and whole fish get repeated mentions
- Handles dietary needs (gluten-free, vegetarian) better than most beach restaurants
- Friendly, attentive staff across multiple independent reviews
- Smoothies are poorly made (fruit dumped into ice rather than blended)
