Rivia Coffee
Description
Rivia sits right on the river and earns its reputation mostly through the coffee and a breakfast menu that actually tries. The Vietnamese iced coffee and hot ca phe sua da are consistently the best versions people have had in Hoi An, which is saying something in a town drowning in cafes. The egg coffee is also worth ordering.
Food-wise, the avocado with poached eggs and the eggplant shakshuka are the standouts. Oat pancakes and granola bowls hold their own too. Everything reads as fresh, which in a tropical climate at 30 degrees matters more than most people admit.
The room has air-con if you need a break from the heat (you will), and the riverside tables give you boats and trees without any real noise. Staff don’t rush you out, which either sounds obvious or sounds like exactly what you need depending on how your trip is going.
Highlights
- Food is fresh and the menu punches above what you'd expect from a brunch spot
- Staff are warm and the pace is relaxed - no one is eyeing your table
- Good value for the quality, with river views included at no extra charge
- Popular enough that it's no longer a quiet secret - go early or expect to wait
