Ry’s Coffee & Art Gallery

Description

Ry is an actual working artist – he paints everything himself and builds the frames in his own workshop, which makes this place worth ten minutes of your time even if you skip the coffee (you shouldn’t skip the coffee). The gallery sits behind the café, so you drink surrounded by original work rather than mass-produced prints like most of the old town galleries.

Highlights

Insider Tip
Order the salt coffee and walk through to the back gallery - ask Ry about his process, because he builds the frames himself and will actually tell you how if you ask.
Pros
- Salt coffee is the standout order - multiple people came specifically for it
- Pricing undercuts most of the surrounding cafés, including oat milk options
- Calm, unhurried atmosphere that actually lets you slow down
- The artwork is original and made on-site - owner is the artist
Cons
- Almost no indoor seating, so rain is a problem
- Coffee is pour-over only, not espresso - worth knowing before you order
Best For
Solo traveler, Budget, Couples, Quick bite
