She works fast – 48 hours is a realistic turnaround even for multi-piece orders – and she actually knows her fabrics, steering you toward the right material for what you’re trying to make rather than just nodding at whatever you point to.
Her specialty is replication. Bring a piece you already love and she’ll copy it, often improving on the original. She’s done suits, silk pajamas, linen trousers, dresses, shirts, and robes, and the fitting process doesn’t drag on with endless return visits the way it can at the market stalls in the old town.
The shop has a family operation feel to it (someone may hand you spring rolls while you’re choosing fabric, which is not the worst thing that’s ever happened). She also ships internationally if you realize after you’ve left that you want more.
