Sunrise restaurant
Description
A beach shack done right – Sunrise sits directly on An Bang beach with sunloungers, Cham Island views, and a rotating cast of people learning to surf in the water in front of you. Trung runs the floor himself, which matters more than it sounds. He’ll look after you, teach you a few Vietnamese phrases if you’re into that, and make sure your beer stays cold.
The food is the real reason to stay past one drink. Crispy prawns, fish fillets with five spices, squid, spring rolls – all fresh, all priced fairly. The spinach and garlic dish alone has turned this into a daily stop for more than a few regulars.
One French reviewer flagged a charge for the sunloungers, which apparently surprised them. Worth knowing before you settle in (most beach restaurants do charge for chairs, but confirmation upfront never hurts).
Highlights
- Fresh seafood that actually delivers - crispy prawns, five-spice fish fillets, and squid all get specific praise
- Trung and his crew are attentive without being annoying - the kind of staff that make you come back daily
- Prices are fair for what you get, especially the food-to-quality ratio
- Only 14 reviews to draw from, so the full picture of consistency is still forming
