Tiamo Hoi An Spa
Description
Tiamo sits just outside the old town core, which means lower prices than the Ancient Town tourist traps and a noticeably calmer street outside. They do massage, nails, waxing, and shampoo under one roof – the kind of place where you can knock out a gel mani-pedi and a foot massage in one sitting without feeling rushed.
The waxing is genuinely competent (a specific compliment not easily earned). The technician handling stubborn hair will switch wax types mid-session to get the job done, which tells you something about how seriously they take results over shortcuts. Miss Phung gets called out by name for massage, so ask for her specifically if you want the real Vietnamese technique.
This is a family-run operation and it shows – expect water, cookies, and fruit while you wait, and an owner who will actually talk to you like a person. The foot ritual at the start (hot bowl, floating petals, the works) is not performative nonsense – it genuinely sets the tone for what follows.
Highlights
- Waxing is thorough and technically skilled, even for stubborn hair
- Nail work (gel mani-pedi) gets consistently strong praise for care and attention
- Welcoming family atmosphere with complimentary snacks and drinks throughout
- Reviews are enthusiastic but the sample is still relatively small, so consistency across all staff is harder to judge
