This is a working ceramics shop on Cua Dai Street where the goods actually come from local kilns, not just from the same wholesalers stocking the Old Town stalls. Bowls, plates, vases, tea sets, coffee sets, plant pots and small statues fill the space, each piece carrying its own glaze variation since nothing here is machine-uniform. The room smells of raw earthenware, and the selection is large enough that you’ll want to set aside real time to look through it.
Pieces are B-grade in places, so check for flaws before buying, but that’s exactly why a single-flower vase and two medium dishes can come to around 140,000 VND. Bat Trang pieces show up on the shelves too, priced far below what the same items fetch at the touristy markets, sometimes a quarter of the cost. Open every day of the week, and the owners are hands-on and happy to help you pick through the stock.
Skip the Old Quarter for ceramics and come here instead, the markup there simply isn’t justified once you’ve seen the prices on identical stock at this shop. Bring extra suitcase space, because there’s no international shipping and you will want to take pieces home.
