Uncle huan coffee
Description
Uncle Huan punches well above its weight for a Hoi An coffee stop. The salted coffee is legitimately the best version you’ll find in town, and the signature Uncle Huan smoothie has its own fan club. The artwork and presentation elevate even a simple drink order into something worth photographing (not in an annoying way – in a ‘oh, that’s actually clever’ way).
The staff are the real draw here. Multiple people by name – Dat, Hoang – get called out in reviews, which tells you this isn’t just generic hospitality. The place handles the post-lantern-boat evening crowd well and somehow stays pleasant even when the rest of the old town is heaving.
They do cocktails too, not just coffee – the peach daiquiri and Irish coffee both get specific praise. Credit cards accepted with no surcharge, which matters more than it should in this town.
Highlights
- Salted coffee stands out even against strong local competition
- Cocktails hold their own alongside the coffee menu
- Presentation of drinks is noticeably creative
- Reviews skew heavily evening-focused, so daytime atmosphere is less documented
