Description
This Hoi An cafe turns your coffee order into a lesson. Pick a style – egg, salt, coconut, or yoghurt coffee – and instead of just handing it over, staff walk you behind the counter and teach you to make it yourself, step by step, before you sit down to drink it. It’s also home to an elaborate Christmas tree display, complete with reindeer details and a blue ornament palette, striking enough that people plan a whole Hoi An stop around it.
Each coffee runs about 50,000-70,000 VND and includes the class, so a group of three or four can split up and each learn a different recipe, then trade sips – the coconut coffee and the salt coffee (ca phe muoi) are both worth ordering. Smoothie bowls are also on the menu: 150k for a full bowl, 75k for a small one. It’s cash only, and the space is small and bright, built for photos as much as for sitting and lingering. Ask for Linh if she’s working the counter – she’s patient and explains each step clearly rather than rushing you through it, and guides first-timers so it feels personal rather than rehearsed.
Go with a friend or two so you can each learn a different coffee style and share. Expect a short wait if it’s busy since each drink is made one at a time behind the counter, and the tree’s popularity means waits can stretch long during peak hours and high season – come early morning or later in the evening for a calmer visit, better light for photos, and a more relaxed coffee-making session with Linh.
