Description

XOFA is a large, multi-area cafe where the point is the space, not the espresso. Think different zones for different moods – you can actually find a seat here, which puts it ahead of half the cafes in the old town.

Bring your laptop, grab a table in a quieter corner, and settle in. Just don’t come expecting a technically impressive cappuccino (the milk work is reportedly mediocre, and 40k for flat-tasting coffee stings a little).

It works best as a base rather than a destination – somewhere to decompress between temple visits or kill an afternoon with friends.

Highlights

Insider Tip
Sit toward the back or upper areas to avoid the noise spike when tour groups roll in - they tend to cluster near the entrance.
Pros
- spacious with multiple seating areas
- Easy to find a spot even when reasonably busy
- Good for longer stays and hanging out
Cons
- Coffee quality doesn't justify the price - cappuccinos in particular have been called out for weak flavor and poor foam
- Can get noisy when families and tour groups overlap
