Cooking Class Tour
Description
Hoa runs a full-day operation out of her family home that combines a coconut basket boat ride on the river, a market tour, and a hands-on cooking class where you actually eat what you make. The whole thing is guided by Hoa herself or close family members, which makes it feel less like a tour and more like someone’s aunt teaching you how to cook cao lau properly.
The cooking class is the main event here. You work at a clean, well-organized station and get walked through each dish step by step, with plenty of help if you’re hopeless in the kitchen (no judgment). Cold beer is available, which is either a practical detail or a survival strategy depending on the heat that day.
The coconut boat portion is exactly what it sounds like – a short spin in a round wicker basket boat, fun once, and the kids love it. Pickup service is included, which removes the usual Hoi An logistics headache.
Highlights
- You eat the full meal you cooked, plus extra dishes - no one leaves hungry
- Pickup service included, making the logistics easy
- Works well for families with kids, who pick up the cooking and boat ride quickly
- The coconut boat ride is a fun add-on but not something that will redefine your Vietnam trip
