Barku Cocktails & Bites
Description
Barku sits just far enough from the Main Street chaos to actually let you hear the music – classic rock, played at a volume that says ‘bar’ not ‘club’. The Indochine retro interior is the real thing: proper old chairs, warm lighting, the kind of place that makes you order a second drink just to stay in it longer.
The cocktails are the main event. The passionfruit mojito and the Mai Tai get specific praise from people who’ve had both elsewhere, and the espresso martini is apparently one of the few in town worth ordering. Happy hour runs 3pm to 6pm with classic cocktails at 89,000 VND – that’s not a bad way to start an evening.
Pool table, darts, friendly staff who will actually talk to you. This is a Westerners-heavy crowd, which is either fine or useful information depending on what you’re after.
