Description

A small family-run cafe with a prime perch overlooking the main street and river. The owner runs it with obvious care, and that comes through in the coffee – the salt coffee in particular is worth going out of your way for.

It’s quiet here, which sounds like a low bar until you’ve spent a week dodging cafes blasting the same playlist. There’s a dog. Prices are reasonable for a spot with this view.

The food is a skip (the paninis have let people down, and the egg coffee apparently tastes like a latte with ambitions). Come for the drinks, the vantage point, and the pace.

Highlights

Insider Tip
Skip the egg coffee and paninis - order the salt coffee, grab a window seat facing the river, and let the afternoon go.
Pros
- Salt coffee is a genuine standout
- River and main street views at prices that don't punish you for sitting down
- Calm atmosphere - no top 40s blasting, good for people-watching
- Warm, welcoming owner who runs it as a family operation
Cons
- Food options underwhelm - the paninis have been called dry with overly salty, uninspired fillings
- Egg coffee doesn't live up to expectations - closer to a milky coffee than the real thing
