La An Old Town Hotel
Description
La An sits on a quiet street in the old town, which matters more than you’d think when half the hotels nearby have you listening to motorbikes until midnight. Rooms are comfortable and the AC mostly does its job (ask to switch rooms if yours feels damp – some are better ventilated than others). Breakfast is included and actually worth eating, which puts it ahead of a lot of places in this price bracket.
The staff are helpful rather than performatively helpful. Anna in particular knows her stuff – she’ll get you sorted for the Memory of Hoi An show and tell you to arrive early so you can grab a good seat. The flip side is they pitch tours and activities hard at check-in, which is fine if you want that and mildly exhausting if you don’t.
No lift is the practical detail that will matter if you’re hauling a big bag up to a top floor room. Worth knowing before you book, not after.
