Merrily sits about 20 minutes on foot from the Old Town, which sounds like a drawback until you realize the free bicycles fix that entirely and you’re cycling past rice fields to get anywhere. The rooms are clean, the pool stays well-maintained (and is open in the evenings), and the connecting room setup works well for families who need two bedrooms with a door between them.
The breakfast punches above its weight. Fresh fruit, made-to-order eggs and omelettes, and enough variety that you won’t be bored after three mornings. The staff – particularly a hostess named Dieu – get called out repeatedly by reviewers, which tells you something about consistency rather than luck.
This is the right call if the Old Town energy wore you out last trip. The location trades noise and foot traffic for rice field views and actual quiet.
