Missteak Hoi An
Description
A steakhouse in Hoi An that takes its cuts seriously – flat iron and rib eye done properly, with river views that make the whole thing feel like less of an indulgence. The flat iron gets mentioned constantly, and for good reason: it’s tender in a way that makes you question every steak you’ve eaten before it. Sides are not an afterthought here (the 1000 layer potatoes and tallow fries have their own fan clubs).
The menu goes deeper than just protein. The cabbage-marmite-sumac-yogurt dish sounds like a mistake on paper and is apparently unmissable, and the truffle gratin earns repeat visits on its own. Desserts – cheesecake, creme brulee, birthday cakes that arrive unprompted – suggest someone in the kitchen cares about the full meal.
Service is notably attentive without being hovering. Staff handle allergy questions properly and have gone out of their way to sort food for kids from neighboring spots. Come hungry and plan to order more sides than you think you need.
