Say Speakeasy Bar
Description
Say Speakeasy sits upstairs from a louder bar on the old town riverfront, which means you get the night market energy below and actual conversation volume above. The cocktails are properly made – real spirits, balanced rather than sugary, and the bartender Hoang seems to care about what ends up in your glass.
The vibe is low-key to the point where you might have the place entirely to yourself on a weekend night (which is either a selling point or a warning sign, depending on your mood). Live music runs downstairs on the first floor if you want something livelier, but the upper floor is where you go when you want to actually think.
Hours appear to be posted as 1 a.m. but at least one person got turned away before closing time, so maybe don’t make it your last stop of the night without a backup plan.
Highlights
- Two-level setup gives you a choice between live music energy (floor 1) and quieter conversation space (floor 2)
- Good river and old town views from the upper floor
- Service from the bar staff, specifically Hoang, gets consistent praise
- Closing procedures seem inconsistent with posted hours - guests have been turned away before the listed closing time
