Anton K Leather
Description
Anton runs a leather workshop just outside the old town where you actually make something – wallets, bag covers, notebook covers – from scratch over about three hours. You pick the leather, learn the cutting, gluing, and stitching, and leave with a finished piece that holds up. It’s hands-on the whole way through, not a watch-someone-else demonstration.
Anton is the reason people come back or drag their friends. He’s patient in the way that suggests he genuinely enjoys teaching, not just tolerating tourists who can’t sew straight. The sessions run small enough that you get real attention on your work.
He also sells finished leather bags and wallets if you’d rather buy than make (though making is clearly the better call here). Book ahead – the workshop fills up and walk-ins can find themselves watching instead of stitching.
Highlights
- The three-hour sessions cover the full process - leather selection, cutting, gluing, stitching - so you actually learn something
- Small group sizes mean it often feels like a private session
- The finished pieces are genuinely well-made, not the flimsy craft-class kind
- Advance booking is required - this isn't a drop-in situation and turning up unannounced is a gamble
