Cam Nam Island
Description
Cam Nam is the small island sitting just across the Thu Bon River from the Ancient Town, reachable by foot over a short bridge. It’s quieter than the old town circus, with local houses, small eateries, and rice paddies still doing their thing a few hundred meters from the tourist hordes.
This is less a destination and more a slow walk with a payoff. You’re not coming for sights – you’re coming to remember that Hoi An is an actual town where people live, not just a lantern-lit photo set.
Bring no particular expectations and you’ll enjoy it. Come expecting a full afternoon of activities and you’ll be bored by lunch (there is no lunch spot worth mentioning here, bring snacks).
