Description

Tra Que Minty Garden sits right on the edge of Tra Que Vegetable Village, so you’re cooking and eating within actual sight of where the herbs were growing an hour ago. The cooking class leans casual and fun – Vietnamese pancakes, garden herbs, and apparently some singing if you get the right group going.

The food comes out of the garden directly into your meal, and the herb-based cocktail at 25,000 VND is the kind of thing you’ll kick yourself for not ordering two of. Prices are low enough that eating here even without the class makes sense during a bike ride through the village.

Be aware that solo couples or small parties can feel a bit sidelined when the owner is running a larger tour group simultaneously – it’s happened enough to be worth knowing before you go.

Highlights

Insider Tip
Order the Tra Que village cocktail (25,000 VND) the moment you sit down - it's made from garden herbs and is easily the most interesting drink you'll find in the village.
Pros
- Owners are warm and hospitable across multiple accounts
- Food consistently lands well, especially dishes made with fresh garden herbs
- Excellent value - meals and drinks are cheap even by Hoi An standards
- The vegetable garden setting is the real deal, not a recreation of one
Cons
'- Small groups can get noticeably less attention when a larger tour is running at the same time
- Portion ratios on some dishes (like the chicken rice) lean heavily toward rice and veg over protein
