son Cafe Hoi An
Description
Son Cafe sits on a quiet side street near the old town center, which is the whole point. You come here to actually stop moving for an hour, not to tick off another tourist spot. The owner runs it herself and takes her time with each drink (every order comes with a cold tea on the side, which is a nice touch).
The coconut coffee is the thing to order. Multiple people came back four or five times specifically for it, which tells you something. The fresh ginger tea with goji berries is worth knowing about if your stomach needs a reset after a few days of street food.
Prices are low, the matcha is decent but not exceptional, and the Milo is a solid option when it’s hot outside. This is a family-run spot, not a slick specialty coffee bar – go in with that expectation and you’ll leave happy.
