Bới Cơm Hoi An Restaurant & Cafe
Description
Bới Cơm sits close to the Old Town and leans hard into its setting – the decor is pretty, with a classical Vietnamese feel that doesn’t tip into kitsch. The chicken rice is the thing to order here, and the space is calm enough that you can actually hear the person across from you (a minor miracle in this part of town).
The menu casts a wide net, including Western options, but ignore those entirely. The pasta and burgers have no business being on the menu, and the reviews make that embarrassingly clear. Stick to the local dishes and you’ll leave happy.
Prices run higher than the average Hoi An spot, which is fine when the food earns it – and for the Vietnamese staples, it mostly does. Lunch service slows down noticeably, so either arrive early or accept that you’re on Vietnamese time.
Highlights
- Chicken rice is consistently well-regarded
- Generous portion sizes
- Staff are friendly and leave you to eat in peace
- Service slows significantly at lunch - expect to wait
- Western menu items (burgers, pasta) are a clear weak point
